Privacy Policy
Overview
Tileshift is a free browser-based puzzle game. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Tileshift. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
By using Tileshift, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information we collect
We collect very limited information to operate the game:
- Game preferences and best scores — stored locally in your browser using
localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server. - Basic usage data — if you access Tileshift via a web server, standard server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and the time of access. This is standard web server behavior and is used only for security and operational purposes.
We do not collect your name, age, location, or any personal identifiers. We do not require account registration.
Cookies and local storage
Tileshift does not use cookies to track or identify you. We use the browser's localStorage API solely to save your best scores and puzzle size preference on your own device. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data in your browser settings.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
Third-party services
Tileshift loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address and browser information as part of the request. This is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy. No other third-party services are used.
We do not use advertising networks, data brokers, analytics platforms, or social media tracking integrations.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties. The minimal data described above is used solely to operate and maintain the game.
Children's privacy
Tileshift is a casual puzzle game suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because we do not collect personal information from any user, no special measures for children are needed beyond our standard practices described in this policy.
Data security
Because we do not collect or transmit personal data, the primary data security measure is your own browser's local storage, which is isolated per origin. We do not store your data on external servers.
Your rights
You can delete all game data at any time by clearing local storage or site data in your browser settings. There is no account to delete and no data stored on our servers to request removal of.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Tileshift after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
